HoneyBaby Records

HoneyBaby Records is a pop/rock oriented indie record label. We are based in Tampere Finland, but we also have strong connections to Poland. We are currently putting more emphasis on digital sales.

The record label has been working since 2007, but the name HoneyBaby Records was registered in 2009. HoneyBaby Records does intimate co-operation with studios and production teams. We have also our own recording studios and producers to work our signed bands with. Our partners include Astral Studio, Metrosound, Cosmic Studio, Lab Lex and many other active and youthful top names in the industry.

We are mainly interested in relasing pop/rock music but anything with fresh touch and a great hit potential is taken under consideration (especially poppish hiphop, rnb, triphop...).

We are currently searching for new talents. Instructions for sending a demo may be found under "Demo Policy" menu.

Aarne Schmitt

Aarne Schmitt is a Finnish-German singer/songwriter. Aarne is a sensible artist giving himself to the music he creates, though in his chest beats the heart of a genuine indie-rocker.

Aarne, who has been playing around with music since he was 6 years old, is a likable and a wonderfully charismatic and classy performer. He fills the room and the listeners with warmth and amazingly American sounding and confident soul-esque vocals.

HoneyBaby Records signed Aarne Schmitt in late 2009 to a master-deal for his independently produced solo album "Where New Lights Shine". The mood and the lyrics of the record move amidst failing relationships and growing up. The songs gently carry the listener into the bittersweet embrace of feelings of both joy and sadness. While listening to the record there is no doubt that Aarne is a very talented and emotional songwriter.

Aarne Schmitt's debut album "Where New Lights Shine" will only be released digitally 1.1.2010. The album is available for downloading on Spotify, iTunes and various other internet music stores from early 2010.

Ok, so you want a record deal? Ok, then. Send us a demo consisting of some of the best songs your your band has made. Maybe a couple of songs that are a little bit different from each other that they give a realistic image of what your band is all about?

Some things that you should consider when sending a demo:

1. We hope you have singing on your demo. We don't release instrumental music.
2. You are ready to REALLY work hard with your band if you get a record deal.
3. You are ready to compromise, make changes in your songs and co-operate with a producer if necessary.
4. You are aware that we are a record company. We are trying to sell records. So if you get a record deal, we expect that your record will sell - And that's our main goal, and we hope that you try to do everything you can to help record sales go higher. After all, that is also where you are also supposed to get money from.
5. Remember to add your contact details with the demo! Also a picture would be nice.
